Michael Fong

Michael is one of the most accomplished and highly regarded facilitators in the Asia-Pacific region with more than 25 years of experience as a trainer, group facilitator and management consultant providing solutions to enterprises in Asia, Australia and UK. As a consultant Michael has worked for many years in senior roles with dynamic multinationals such as Citibank, LogicaCMG and Shell. He has managed multiple projects providing facilities management, change management, quality management and application support . Clients include Apex Systems, CISCO, Citibank, Digital Equipment, HCL, Institute of Systems Science, JTC International, Hewlett-Packard, NEC, Reuters, SingTel and Sony.
Michael played a leadership role in addressing Citibank’s Asia Pacific policy on Project Management, rolling out processes and supporting toolsets to support project management and software engineering. The implementation was subsequently reviewed and passed by the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
Since 2004 Michael has specialised in developing and conducting management workshops for participants to acquire new skills, learn fresh concepts and share their knowledge and ideas. His courses include project planning and management; problem solving and ideation; team performance and cohesion; employability skills; HR development. As a trainer and facilitator, Michael’s workshops are different and especially
effective because of his emphasis on experiential learning. Courses incorporate role plays, group discussions,
facilitated learning, assessments and action-based activities. Kinaesthetic intelligence is applied to enhance learning experiences and retention of skills. He has engaged a wide range of participants, from the rank-and-file to senior managers, and strives to deliver maximum learning and insights to them by catering to their
different needs and expectations.
Michael is a Certified Project Manager (PMI PMP), Certified Risk Manager (PMIRMP) and Certified Programme Manager (MSP). He holds an Associate Certificate in Project Management from the GWU.
He has also attained the QAI Certified Quality Analyst and IRCA Lead Auditor credentials. He is certified by the IAL as a trainer, course developer and competency assessor. Michael holds a BSc from RMIT (Australia) and a Graduate Diploma in Total Quality Management from Wollongong University (Australia). He is current completing his MBA with Arcadia University in USA.
